REFLECTION ON AMAL ACADEMY
“Good days start with gratitude and positive thinking
Before joining the Amal Fellowship I was an introverted person. I did not speak publicly due to a lack of confidence and this weakness was a restriction in my success. Also, I had a fixed mindset.
But after joining the Amal Fellowship I learned a lot of things and also saw changes in myself. I want to share my experience with you.
Knowing Myself
Due to this fellowship, I knew who I am, what is the purpose of my life, what are my future goals and how I can achieve them. At the start of the fellowship, it was a little bit difficult for me to know myself, but with the passing of time I saw improvement and this was a great achievement for me.
Growth Mindset
Amal Fellowship provided me with an opportunity to perform work in different groups every week that allowed me to learn from the experiences of other fellows. Apart from this, we were assigned many project works which were composed of different online courses, quizzes as well as DIY activities, and self-reliance projects that encouraged me to learn more and helped me in my personal growth and development.
Online sessions
Online sessions developed a lot of improvement in my life as I learned soft skills like:
- Communication skills
- Teamwork
- Problem-solving
- Leadership
- Gratitude
- Going through the extra mile
- Strengths and weaknesses
Amal’s fellowship enabled me to know myself in a better way. It allowed me to know my inner talent, my skills, my strengths and weaknesses, my goals, and various tips to achieve them.
Volunteer & Entrepreneurship
During the fellowship, I gained an opportunity to work as a volunteer and entrepreneur. This was an awesome experience working as a volunteer to collect donations from the Edhi Foundation and as an entrepreneur working with my Mega project circle team and gaining a lot of achievement due to cooperative behavior while working together. I learned Ek or Ek gyarah formula that big and innovative things happened in teamwork.
Resume & Cover Letter
I was not well aware of resume and cover letter before the fellowship, but Amal taught me how to design a superhero resume and cover letter to maximize the chances of getting a job.
Networking
During the fellowship, I came across fellows from different fields that provided me an opportunity to expand my network through LinkedIn. It played a vital role in reaching many people that could help me in any sort of professional life.
Mock Interviews
Mock interviews were arranged for us during the fellowship that gave us an experience of how to appear in a professional interview and how to respond to the questions asked by the interviewer. This was an amazing experience feeling. Due to this interview, I realized where I stand now and how to improve and groom myself.
Sadly, this fellowship is ending in about 2 weeks, and I will be missing the weekend sessions, all the laughter, discussions, and all my fellows.
When it comes to goodbye, it’s very hard for me to let go. I have learned and enjoyed this fellowship that made me attached and nostalgic. We became an Amal family on this journey. I can clearly see the difference between my life before and after the Fellowship. Now, when I look back and connect the dots, I realize how my life has been changed from an unprofessional version to the professional one. I can see many improvements in my leadership, communication, time management as well as other personal and professional skills.
We Felt, we Moved, we Hurt, we Laughed, we Spoke, we Fell, and we Rise! Thank you all for being a part of my world.

In the end, I would like to thank my mentors Sir Raza Talpur and Mam Rohma Shahzad, and also Mam Lyba Wains. They are ideal personalities for me who helped me to improve myself through various resources and give me a lot of time and feedback.
And, I also want to thank the Amal Team for giving me this opportunity. It is a life-changing journey for me. I assure you that in the future, I follow the steps, techniques, and tips to make the whole Amal Team proud.
